X-Wing Patrol

Another of my older illustrations, now that I've finally scanned it.

This was drawn on a whim, and quickly became a large project rather than the sketch it started as. I liked the sketch so much I had to do a bigger, better one. The original is 14x17 inches, ink on paper. I see it as just a typical combat space patrol mission by a typical X-Wing fighter squadron.

Unfortunately, an attempt to show the foreground ship as a beat-up combat veteran didn't quite work out, and the "battle damage scar" doesn't make me happy. Maybe if I'd drawn the scorch mark around a clean "replacement panel" it would work better? Oh well.
