Mustang Pilot

Another one from my college painting class. I painted this from an old WWII photo of a recon Mustang pilot that was used to illustrate his interview in an aviation magazine.

I had a black-and-white painting with lots of rich grey tones that I was very happy with and considered "done". I then went back and attempted a color wash, hoping to bring a "colorized black and white movie" look to it with mixed results at best.

The skin tones are horribly washed out, and I may eventually go back and make it into something I'm happier with.
